[SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin

Now here's the question: Would it be possible to let LMS show if a file
is a Hi Res file? If I play a file I can see the frequency, but I can't
see it in the list of tracks and albums. Often they do have the same
file in different qualities, but LMS does not show which is which.
I think that yes, this is technically possible (99% sure). But I'm not
sure about the UX: we're a bit limited in how we format content on the
various displays. Eg. we could add this information on the second line
on a Squeezeplay display. Alas this doesn't help the web or Classic UI.
Mobile apps might handle it differently, too. And how to represent it on
the main line when you're limited to ASCII characters?...

+1 for this.
Would love that too. Maybe just add the info to the album name, e.g.

Hotel California (24/96)

??

I don't think the actual bitrate is available, but only a flag
indicating it's in hires or similar. That would then be

Hotel California (HiRes)

?

Let me state that I think it's realy very kind that some people invest
their time and energy to improve these plugins for the benefit of
others.

LMS showed that there were updates for some plugins so I restarted to
install the 1.350 version . I found the option for the hi-res indicator
and put it on but had to leave home by then. Going to see how it works
when I get home again this evening.

Hi;

Recently I've been using TV Chrome Cast more often and enjoy the TV
dsiplay of metadata and cover. This works well from local files and
Spotify, but Qobuz cast does not display Cover Art (the rest of metadata
is ok) . I'm not sure of this is Qobuz Plugin issue or Castbridge but
since it works with Spotty I thought to try here.

I think it's more of a Chromecast issue which is said to be picky about
the artwork. Try asking philippe about it.

A few days ago, over at a Computer Audiophile forum, I asked David Craff
from Qobuz for help. I wrote:

*"Perhaps David from Qobuz can lend a hand...I, as well as many
others(judging from their online presence) enjoy Qobuz via LMS/Squeeze
plugin. The terrific folks who wrote and maintain the software inform us
that the 500 favorites and/or playlists limit cannot be increased from
their end. After years as a subscriber, I'm forced to remove existing
favorites so that I can access additional favorites.
This is not the case when using the desktop(OSX) app or the IOS app.
I'm not keen on replacing my Transporter for the sake of ditching LMS.
Please comment. Thank you." *

He graciously answered me(immediately) with this:
*"We do have a limit of 500 when requesting favorites on our API.
But the limit is only on the call in order to limit the response time.
However, we can pass the parameters "limit", "offset" and with the total
number of favorites, recompose end by end, all the favorites.
For example, the first call can forward the first 500 favorites to
the user's 2349. Then a second call is made with the "offset" parameter
on a value of 501 and the "limit" parameter on a value of 500 to have
the next 500 favorites and so on until the total number of favorites is
reached.
The limit is not mandatory since it is a maximum of 500, but it is
preferable to make calls with less results (50 or 100 for example)"*

Does this mean that it is possible to increase the number of favorites
that the Qobuz plugin can display? Hope so. I, unfortunately, do not
have the chops to pull it off.

That's correct. It only needs to be implemented by some volunteer :-).
I've taken a note, but won't promise anything.

24/96 is the maximum unless you install the 'enhanced digital output
(edo) app'
and connect via USB. Then you'll increase the maximum to 24/192.

There may be a problem with that at the moment. Maybe it's only in their
own apps though. And they are working on it.

Qobuz apps currently display the Hi-Res logo when an album is available
for download in Hi-Res, even if it is only available in a lower bit rate
when streaming. But if you buy the download, with the right account
(Studio or Sublime+) then you can stream it in Hi-Res too.

Again, I don't know if this is only an issue with their apps or also the
meta data, and anyway they are working on it. (Relevant posts on CA

Thanks, of does work indeed. Somehow not on all Hi Res albums, but I'm
not 100% sure on that, as my LMS does not always show the right artwork
and bitrate in the right side of the screen. Sometimes after a reboot it
does, and then after a while of doesn't anymore. So that's another issue
for me.

I can now see if album is hi res. Would it be possible to also show if a
track or song is hi res? It would help me a lot.

You should check your server.log file to see whether there's eg. an
issue with the cache file.

Sorry for the typos in my last post. I stil got to find a way to tell my
phone that I'm trying to type in English in stead of Dutch 🙄

I guess you mean a log file from LMS? The log that I could find through
'settings' and then the tab 'information' has 24 items that look like
this:

[18-10-20 23:09:17.7165] Slim::Utils::DbCache::__ANON__ (284) Error:
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/qobuz.db
[18-10-20 23:09:17.7228] Slim::Utils::DbCache::__ANON__ (283) Error:
DBD::SQLite::st execute failed: database disk image is malformed

Does this tell you anything? I haven't got the knowledge to make
anything out of it, unfortunately.

About the Hi-Res indication of single tracks or songs: I listen to
playlists from myself, other users and from Qobuz. For me it would be
nice to see in LMS which tracks in a playlist are Hi-Res tracks.

That's pretty much what I thought might be in there. Your cache file is
corrupted. Therefore you have metadata problems. Shut down LMS, delete
that file, restart. That should fix it.

Okay, I understand what I've got to do. Delete the LMS cache file. The
problem is I haven't got a clue how to do that, as the file is on my
SOtM sMS-200 streaming bridge. At the moment I do not have access to all
the folders and files on that Linux based device. I did try to get in,
but I can only see a handful of folders that contain music files or
playlists. I also checked the things I can reach and change through
Eunhasu OS, but could not find a way to delete the LMS cache file. Can
you help me on that, or is it a question that I have to ask to the
people of SOtM?
Yes, that's definitely something your vendor should be able to help
with.
